Fire Investigation - Spring Valley

The Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit is investigating a structure fire in Spring Valley.

It happened on Tuesday, April 9, around 7:35 p.m. in the 900 block of Sacramento Avenue. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department received a call from a resident that their house was on fire.

Deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station along with the San Miguel Fire Department responded to the location. Units arrived within minutes and found several small fires throughout several rooms in the home.

The people inside the home were safely evacuated. One person was medically evaluated on scene for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

Detectives from the Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit were called to the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. The fire was determined to have started inside a bedroom of the residence. The cause of the fire was determined to be arson.

Detectives identified Sean Arkward (DOB 07/27/1969) as the suspect who started the fire. Patrol deputies were unable to locate Arkward. At this time, Arward is wanted for arrest for California Penal Code 451(b) - Unlawfully/Recklessly Causing a fire to an Inhabited Structure. He is a black male adult, 6'03", 220 pounds, brown eyes with short black hair.

La Unidad de Bombas/Incendios Premeditados del Sheriff está investigando un incendio estructural en Spring Valley.

Ocurrió el martes 9 de abril, alrededor de las 7:35 p.m. en la cuadra 900 de Sacramento Avenue. El Departamento del Alguacil del Condado de San Diego recibió una llamada de un residente de que su casa estaba en llamas.
