Kane County Announces Fabyan Pkwy & Western Ave. Construction

The City of Batavia recently has been notified of an upcoming intersection improvement project planned for Fabyan Parkway and Western Avenue. As your residence will be near the construction site, we are contacting you to inform you of this project. Construction is expected to begin in early May.

Work will include excavation, roadway reconstruction, HMA pavement, storm sewer facilities, drainage structures, and landscape restoration. Also included is the reconstruction of the path along the south side of Fabyan Parkway from Western Avenue to Illinois Route 31. Anticipated completion in fall 2024.

During portions of the project, Fabyan Parkway will be reduced from two lanes east/west bound to one lane in each direction throughout the construction zone. In addition, the lane widths on Western Avenue will be reduced to 10 feet in each direction with the removal of the left turn lane during construction.
