SEQUOIA AND KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARKS, Calif. November 20, 2023 - Effective at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks will no longer be in fire restrictions.
This decision was made following a determination by park leadership and fire management officials that risk from unwanted human-caused wildfires has been greatly reduced. Therefore, effective tomorrow morning, campfires and charcoal barbeques are permitted in all open, designated areas of the parks.
Even with cooler temperatures and higher levels of humidity at this time of year, visitors are urged to exercise great care with fire and potential sources of fire in the parks. Campfires should be put all the way out, cool to the touch, before going to sleep or leaving the area.
