The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on further strengthening the cooperation between universities and enterprises.

Weng Zuliang expressed his welcome to Xin Sijin and his delegation, and introduced the business achievements of China Minmetals in recent years. Weng said that China Minmetals had always been following the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implementing the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress, and firmly undertaking the original mission of "serving and reinvigorating the country through the metals and minerals industry". In 2022, the operating revenue of China Minmetals reached nearly RMB 900 billion, and its business performance hit record high again. At present, on the basis of a series of surveys and researches, China Minmetals has opened the study classes themed on learning and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It is to create a good atmosphere featuring "learning with problems and thoughts and combining learning with practice". This meant that China Minmetals further consolidated its key responsibility and major business, resolutely shouldered the responsibility of central SOEs, and accelerated the construction of a world-class powerhouse with global competitiveness in the metals and minerals industry. Weng Zuliang noted that China Minmetals, with a strong scientific and technological foundation, had cooperated with key domestic colleges and universities in many forms and at different levels. He hoped that both sides would strengthen all-round communication, give full play to their advantages in professional technologies, complementarity and collaboration, and achieve more fruitful results in cooperation.

Xin Sijin expressed his gratitude to China Minmetals for its long-time support to WUT. He said that in recent years, WUT had made many breakthroughs in the high-level talents training, discipline construction, cultivation of scientific and technological innovation capabilities, and international cooperation and exchanges. He also pointed out that WUT had continued to contribute its efforts in serving national strategies and promoting regional economic growth, and significantly enhanced its influence at home and abroad. He hoped that both sides can further deepen communication and exchanges on the basis of existing cooperation, and give full play to their respective advantages in building key technology platforms related to main businesses. He also wished that both parties can explore cooperation in wider fields from broader perspectives, take high-quality cooperation to a higher level, and open up new prospects for university-enterprise cooperation.

Zhu Kebing, Party Group Member and Senior Vice President of China Minmetals, attended the meeting. Participants also included relevant personnel from WUT and relevant department heads from China Minmetals' head offices.
