Detectives Working to Identify Those Responsible for Spray Painted Hate Messages

Residents in the Sylvan Park neighborhood are being asked to check their home surveillance systems for video/images of at least two individuals who spraypainted swastikas and hate messages on five homes in that area early today.

In 1:28 a.m. video from one of the impacted homes, the suspects appear to be two white males who had their faces covered. One of them spraypainted the Ring camera when they arrived. The vandalism occurred at homes on Westlawn Drive, and Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado, and Idaho Avenues. Anyone thinking they might recognize the individuals from the video linked below is asked to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division are leading the police department's work on this case, with assistance from the West Precinct's Investigations Unit.

Chief John Drake has directed an increased patrol presence in the Sylvan Park area, as well as in the areas of Jewish institutions in the city.
