Notice of Complete Application and Public Meeting

Application to Amend the Durham Regional Official Plan

Regional File Number: OPA 2024-001

Purpose of Proposed Amendment:

The purpose of the application is to permit the expansion of an aggregate pit consisting of a licensed area of approximately 127 hectares and an area proposed for extraction of approximately 15.4 hectares. The subject site is located at 4900 Concession Road 4, in the Township of Uxbridge.

Public Meeting:

The Region of Durham's Planning & Economic Development Committee will hold a public meeting to provide interested parties the opportunity to make comments, identify issues and provide additional information relative to the proposed amendment. The public meeting will be held on:

Interested parties are encouraged to submit written correspondence and questions prior to the meeting by emailing [email protected] by 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, quoting the file number for distribution to members of Council. Please note that this meeting will be held in a hybrid meeting format with electronic and in-person participation. If you wish to make a delegation before the Planning & Economic Development Committee, submit your request in writing to [email protected] by no later than 12:00 PM (noon) on Monday, June 3, 2024. Members of the public who register in advance of the meeting will be provided with the details to delegate electronically or in-person. Submissions:

If you wish to make a written submission, or if you wish to be notified of subsequent meetings or of the decision of Regional Council on the proposed official plan amendment, you must make a written request to the Commissioner of Planning and Economic Development at the following address:

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or does not make written submissions to the Regional Municipality of Durham before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body:

1. is not entitled to appeal the decision of Regional Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT), as appropriate, and
2. may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT), as appropriate unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

Personal information from those who make either oral or written submission on the application is collected by the Region of Durham under the authority of the Planning Act, and this personal information will become part of the public record.
