Submit a Request

City of Indianola residents can easily report issues, such as potholes, damaged sidewalks, or tall weeds, by using our online form. We will work on correcting the issue as soon as possible. Depending on the situation, other factors, such as weather, availability of materials, or the underlying conditions, may play into how quickly the issue is resolved. We appreciate your partnership in keeping Indianola safe and in good shape.

Springtime Projects

Downtown Square Reconstruction Project: The southern alley and parking lot were closed on March 20, and utility construction began. As part of the utility construction, South Buxton was closed to thru-traffic between West Salem and West 1st Avenues. Parking is still available on this section of the road, except for two areas near the alley. This closure will last approximately one month, weather dependent, while the water main is extended, and underground electrical conduit is constructed. The north alley reconstruction will be included in the next phase, although timing has yet to be determined.

Industrial Park Improvement Project: North 14th Street at East Hillcrest Avenue closed this week for work to begin on the utility phase of the project. During this construction, North 14th Street can be accessed from East Iowa Avenue. The closure is anticipated to last three weeks, weather dependent. Once complete, this project will open nearly 60 acres of ground for future industrial development in Indianola!

Orchard Avenue Pavement Repairs: A private contractor has begun work to repair failed pavement on West Orchard Avenue, between Fairway Drive and North G Street. The repairs are scheduled to be completed by April 5, weather dependent.

Brush Facility

The Brush Facility will open for the season with free yard disposal (for anything less than 1/2" in diameter) on Saturday, April 1 at 9 a.m.! The spring cleanup event at the Brush Facility for hazardous household waste, appliances, and electronics will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. (fees may apply). Please remember to bring your ID showing your current address. The curbside cleanup will be held April 24-28. In order to avoid nuisance complaints, please do not put items on the curb until the night before your scheduled pickup.
