In a continuing commitment to strengthen its mission, Marian University has hired a new leader for Advancement and Alumni.
Kim Laws was named this month as the new Assistant Vice President for Advancement and Alumni Relations at Marian. In this position, Laws will lead the university's initiative to engage alumni and foster philanthropic partnerships.
"Kim brings an outstanding record of leadership, fund development, and community engagement to this vital role," said Aaron Sadoff, President of Marian University. "Along with her skills, Kim's great connections and knowledge of our community will be invaluable."
Laws comes to Marian from SSM Health and the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation (AHCF), where she was Director of Development, and most recently, the Interim Leader of the AHCF. Prior to that, she served as Director of Financial Development at the Fond du Lac Family YMCA. Laws' career also includes 20+ years of sales and marketing in broadcast TV and radio, where she helped clients build their businesses through marketing and communications strategies.
"I am thrilled for the opportunity to join Marian University! Throughout my time at both the AHCF and the YMCA, I saw firsthand what an incredible and generous community we live in and the difference each one of us can make in the lives of others by simply giving back through time, talent, or treasure," said Laws. "Marian has a deeply rooted commitment to excellence and community, and I look forward to creating new opportunities for engagement and support, and helping to further the university's mission of empowering students to succeed both in their careers and in their communities."
Laws is active in the community, serving on the boards of the Fond du Lac Morning Rotary and Girls on the Run Fond du Lac County. She is also a member of Service League of Fond du Lac. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she has called Fond du Lac home for the past 22 years. She and her husband Greg, have two adult daughters, Haille and Lexi.
Marian's Alumni and Development was led most recently by Kate Candee, who retired in December 2023, but returned to Marian to help out on an interim basis.
