With stand-up comedy, live music, musicals and more, this is The Palace Theatre's biggest season yet and the new brochure is bursting at the seams with brilliant shows.

Gracing the cover is punk legend John Lydon - aka Johnny Rotten - who, on Thursday 30th May, will tell the audience tales of how he and the Sex Pistols changed the face of music and sparked a cultural revolution.

007 fans will enjoy the critically acclaimed James Bond Concert Spectacular on Sunday 26 May, hosted by former 'Miss Moneypenny' Caroline Bliss from Living Daylights, while Soul Satisfaction'sThe American Four Tops will make their Palace debut from across the pond on Saturday, 15 June. This paves the way for the Detroit sound to continue with The Magic of Motown show on Friday 27 September.

Irish comedy ace Ed Byrne will serve up five-star laughs on the 28th September when he stops off in Newark on his latest tour, while more top-quality stand-up will be provided by The Comedy Store on Saturday 14 September.

And audiences will be reaching for their tissues when the Palace welcomes the tour of Willy Russell's award-winning West End musical Blood Brothers from 22 to 26 October, telling the story of two brothers from opposite sides of the tracks who meet again with tragic circumstances. This show is known for receiving standing ovations and this one will surely get the audiences of Newark up on their feet.

From the producers of rock spectaculars Anything for Love and Vampires Rock, comes brand new show Love Hurts with 25 epic power ballads and anthems, a powerhouse cast of amazing singers, dancers and a seven-piece world class live band on Saturday 8 June.

And don't miss your chance to see Grammy Award-winning guitar virtuoso Albert Lee, on Tuesday 18 June, whom none other than the legend that is Eric Clapton called the 'the greatest guitarist in the world'.

If that's not enough, there's more live music with Totally Tina,The Drifters, The Glenn Miller Band Spectacular, The Glam Rock Show - Get it On as well as Frankie - The Concert.

Over at beautiful Newark Castle, audiences can enjoy a summer of outdoor theatre in the stunning Castle Gardens. The Bench by Keir McAllister, Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Little Women, Wilde About Oscar and the Gondoliers are set to make this summer a real treat!

We're already getting excited about this year's magical Christmas pantomime Aladdin, from Jordan Productions, coming to Newark Palace Theatre from 6 to 31 December.

And that is just a few of the shows that are available to book.

Councillor Rowan Cozens said, Portfolio Holder for Heritage, Culture and the Arts, said: "A night at the theatre is one of life's great pleasures and the Palace Theatre has a range of shows that will make you laugh; make you cry and make you want to get up and dance.

"We are lucky to have such a beautiful theatre in the town, have a look at our new show brochure and see if there is something that takes your catches your eye. Book now and enjoy a night or afternoon at the theatre."
