Travel information for the AC Milan game – stretch of railway and B1 closed

Borussia Dortmund will host AC Milan at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK on Wednesday evening (kick-off 21:00 CET). Please note when travelling that the stretch of railway between Dortmund Hauptbahnhof and the stadium is closed due to renovation work and that the public transport offering is greatly reduced. The B1 will also be closed at kick-off.

Complete closure of the B1

From 4 October, a new road surface will be applied to a section of the B1. A full closure will be set up between B236 and Semerteichstraße (direction of travel towards Bochum). As it stands, the closure will be in place on Wednesday from 21:00 CET, i.e. at kick-off in the match against Milan. Nonetheless, please travel early for the Champions League match. The section of road will be reopened to traffic at 05:00 CET on Monday 9 November, meaning the B1 will still be closed for the home game against Union Berlin (7/10).

Train services

Deutsche Bahn is renovating 2.2 kilometres of rails, sleepers and ballast on the stretch of track up until 8 October. The home games against AC Milan and Union Berlin will take place during the period of closure.

Trains cannot stop at the Signal-Iduna-Park train station. The only exception is the RB 53 from Iserlohn/Schwerte.

The trains on line RE 57 (DB Regio) between Dortmund Hbf and Fröndenberg will be diverted. The Dortmund-Hörde stop will be omitted; alternatively, the trains will stop at Witten Hbf. and Schwerte (Ruhr).

The trains on lines RB 53 (DB Regio) and RB 59 (eurobahn) will be cancelled between Dortmund Hbf. and Dortmund-Hörde. As a replacement, buses will stop at all stops. In addition, the U-Bahn line U41 can be used.

The trains on line RB 52 (DB Regio) are cancelled between Dortmund Hbf. and Herdecke. Buses will run as a replacement and stop at all stops.

It is strongly recommended that you choose alternative arrival and departure options. Stops will be made at Dortmund-Hbf., Dortmund-Möllerbrücke (S4) and Dortmund-Hörde. From there, you can use the Stadtbahn and/or the rail replacement service or walk to the stadium.

Arrival:

The RB 53 will depart Iserlohn at 18:51 and 19:51 and arrive at Dortmund Signal Iduna Park at 19:37 and 20:37.

A special TRI train stopping at Bönen, Unna, Holzwickede, Do.-Sölde and Do.-Aplerbeck will depart from Hamm at 18:44 and arrive at Do.-Hörde at 19:16 on 04/10/2023.

The Regionalexpress (RE) 57 will run from Bestwig (via Meschede, Freienohl, Oeventrop, Arnsberg, Wickede, Fröndenberg) to Dortmund-Hbf without any further stops.

A new service on offer since December 2022 is the connection from Siegen (via Kreuztal, Kirchhundem, Lennestadt, Finnentrop, Plettenberg, Werdohl, Altena, Letmathe and Witten) with the Intercity (IC) 34 or the RE 34, departing from Siegen at 17:04 and arriving at Do.-Hbf at 18:57 and departing from Siegen at 18:08 and arriving at Do.-Hbf at 19:59. On the IC 34, the local transport tariff applies and the match ticket is therefore valid.
