Vigor Begins DSRA on USS Barry at Harbor Island

"We are honored to continue our longstanding partnership with the U.S. Navy by servicing USS Barry at Harbor Island," said Adam Beck, executive vice president of ship repair for Vigor. "Team Barry is excited to work alongside the Northwest Regional Maintenance Center and Vigor to complete routine maintenance repairs and get Barry back into the fight," said Cmdr. Adrienne Roseti, commanding officer of USS Barry.

USS Barry is expected to remain at Harbor Island through spring of 2025. Up to 400 skilled laborers will work on the vessel over the duration of the 16-month DSRA.

"Long, complex projects like USS Barry not only ensure a strong U.S. Navy fleet, they provide hundreds of family wage jobs here in the Puget Sound," said Beck. "Our workforce has developed significant experience in performing maintenance on vessels like this one, and they will put that expertise to use once again."

In addition to Vigor's work on USS Barry and USS Cape St. George, Vigor is also finishing work on USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53), as well as working on several Military Sealift Command (MSC) vessels. The company is currently performing maintenance on replenishment oilers USNS John Lewis (T-AO-205) and USNS Henry J. Kaiser (T-AO-187), and Safeguard-class rescue and salvage ship USNS Grasp (T-ARS-151) in Portland. In addition, Vigor will soon begin scheduled maintenance on hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH-19) at the Swan Island shipyard.
