Weng Zuliang and Mao Weiming Attend Working Talks with Hunan Provincial People's Government

On April 20, China Minmetals held working talks with Hunan Provincial People's Government in Changsha to exchange views on further deepening their cooperation. Weng Zuliang, Party Group Secretary and Chairman of China Minmetals, and Mao Weiming, Deputy Secretary of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Hunan Province, attended the meeting.

Mao Weiming expressed his thanks to China Minmetals for its vigorous support for the development in Hunan Province. He said, in recent years, Hunan, aiming at drawing the blueprint for the development of "three high lands and four new missions" strategy, has been focusing on extending, supplementing, and strengthening the industry chains, accelerating the transformation and upgrading of the non-ferrous metal industry, and promoting green, low-carbon and circular development, and has achieved significant success. Hunan is the province where China Minmetals has the widest strategic layout as well as the most complete industrial sectors and industry chains in China. The cooperation between the two sides has yielded fruitful results and will enjoy broad prospects. He hoped that China Minmetals would further optimize its industrial layout in Hunan, deepen project development cooperation, optimize and adjust the capital cooperation mode, and promote the implementation of a number of projects in mineral resources development, metal smelting and processing, new energy and new materials, and scientific and technological innovation to jointly establish a new model of cooperation between the central enterprises and local government and help to turn the blueprint into a beautiful landscape. Hunan will continue to optimize the business environment, and provide more support in resources guarantee, project promotion, and platform building.

Weng Zuliang expressed his thanks to Hunan Provincial Government for its long-standing support to the China Minmetals' subsidiaries in Hunan, and highly praised Hunan for its development achievements in recent years, especially the continuous upgrading of its business environment. He said that China Minmetals has always kept in mind the "matters of national significance", stayed committed firmly to the original aspiration and founding mission of "dedicating to the nation with mining and making the country strong in mining", and is accelerating the building of a world-class metals and mining group with global competitiveness. Hunan is the hometown of non-ferrous metals and has always been the core of China Minmetals' strategic layout, industrial layout, and innovation platform layout. The two sides have achieved significant success and established a deep friendship in the long-term cooperation.

He hoped that both sides would take this meeting as an opportunity to strengthen communication and deepen cooperation in project development, scientific and technological innovation, industrial transformation and platform building. China Minmetals will further leverage its advantages to help Hunan shape the non-ferrous metal industry into one with powerful strength, higher quality and larger scale, thus promoting the high-quality economic and social development in Hunan.

Other participants included Li Dianxun, Member of the Standing Committee of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor, Qu Hai, Secretary General of the Provincial Government, Zhu Kebing and Wang Shilai, members of the leadership team of China Minmetals. Relevant officials of Hunan Provincial Government, department heads of the headquarters, directly managed enterprises and affiliated enterprises under China Minmetals also attended the meeting.
