Bar Harbor residents will be required to pre-register and receive a registration form from the Highway Division at 50 Public Works Way (off Crooked Road in Hulls Cove). The registration form must be presented with the items at the collection site. Examples of materials that will be accepted include household cleaners, oil-based paint (NO latex), gasoline, pesticides, herbicides, and photo chemicals.

(These items may be taken at no cost to the Bar Harbor Recycling Center on White Spruce Road during all hours of operation.) Examples of universal waste include televisions, computers, fluorescent light bulbs, rechargeable batteries and mercury thermometers.
