Trick-or-Treat on the Trail to be held Oct. 31 in Lower Ramble
Community Pumpkin Pageant to follow Nov. 2

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The City of Fayetteville is excited to announce two family friendly Halloween events are returning to the Lower Ramble, both of which are free and open to the public.

Trick-or-Treat on the Trail, a Halloween-costumed celebration, will be held 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31. Trick-or-treaters and their families are invited into the Fay Jones Woods, where treats will be handed out at stops along the trail between the West Ave. entrance across the Fayetteville Public Library and the Tanglewood Steps.

The City's Parks, Natural Resources and Cultural Affairs Department is partnering with Experience Fayetteville and the Rotary Club of Fayetteville to host this fun-filled Halloween event for trick-or-treaters of all ages. Treats will be handed out by staff from City departments, including police and fire, as well as local non-profits. Free parking is available at the surface lot south of the library.

Additionally, a Community Pumpkin Pageant will be held Thursday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Lower Ramble. Residents are invited to bring carved jack-o-lanterns to build a collaborative community display of pumpkin artistry.

After checking in at the Fay Jones Woods entrance across from the library south parking lot, participants will be given an electric tea light to be placed in their pumpkin, which will be placed along the Canopy Walk just inside the woods. All participants and spectators are invited to vote, and ribbons for Best in Show will be presented at 7 p.m.

Afterward, pumpkins can be left behind for collection by the City's Trash and Recycling Department for composting.

Arts and Culture Director Joanna Bell said, "We are so excited to celebrate the spooky season in the Lower Ramble's Fay Jones Woods - the perfect setting for these festive, family friendly Halloween events!"
