Data Release for March 2024 Inflation

Monthly headline urban CPI inflation, published by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics on April 8, 2024, recorded 1.0 percent in March 2024 compared to 2.7 percent in the same month of the previous year and to 11.4 percent in February 2024. Accordingly, the annual headline inflation rate recorded 33.3 percent in March 2024, compared to 35.7 percent in February 2024.

Monthly core CPI inflation, computed by the Central Bank of Egypt, recorded 1.4 percent in March 2024 compared to 2.5 percent in the same month of the previous year and to 13.2 percent in February 2024. Accordingly, the annual core inflation rate recorded 33.7 percent in March 2024, compared to 35.1 percent in February 2024.
