Alen Simonyan Receives President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev

On April 15, the President of the RA National Assembly Alen Simonyan received the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Welcoming the President of Kazakhstan in the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan expressed his solidarity to the friendly Kazakh people in confronting the flood.

"Mr President, your official visit to Armenia is an important step for the development and strengthening of the mutually beneficial relations between our countries. I would like to mention the high level of collaboration established between Armenia and Kazakhstan in bilateral and multi-lateral formats, especially underscoring the cooperation on the inter-parliamentary platforms," the NA President said.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highly appreciated the relations based on the Treaty on 25-year old Friendship and Cooperation, underlining the economic, political and cultural spheres. The President of Kazakhstan highlighted the active cooperation between the parliaments, underlining the role of parliament in the ratification process of the Armenian-Kazakh agreements.

Alen Simonyan presented to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev the Crossroads of Peace project of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, emphasizing the support and participation of Kazakhstan in the implementation of the project.

"The Crossroads of Peace project has a key role in the establishment of security in the South Caucasus, as well as in the development of the trade-economic relations for all countries of the region," the Head of Parliament stressed.

At the meeting issues on the settlement process of the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the rapprochement of the Armenian-Kazakh bilateral and multilateral trade-economic, cultural apolitical cooperation were discussed.

At the end of the meeting Alen Simonyan and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited Matenadaran, where the President of Kazakhstan were presented the Armenian and foreign language manuscripts, including the manuscripts in Ghpchagh with Armenian script being kept in the museum.

"The unique manuscripts being kept are symbols of inter-cultural cooperation, and they remind us about many years of ties that existed in the region and beyond its borders," the NA President noted
