Indiana, PA - PennDOT is announcing that an intersection improvement in Brockway, Jefferson County, will begin on April 9, 2024.

Work will include both daylight and overnight work as follows:

  • April 9 at 7:00 AM through April 10 at 6:00 AM, work will begin at the intersection of Routes 219 and 28 to remove the concrete island and backfill it.
April 10 through April 12, the contractor will work 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily to begin preparations for the pavement patching. This work will occur from the bridge on Route 28 (Ensign USN Connie Rita Esposito Bridge) to the intersection of Route 219 (Clark Street).

This project includes the resurfacing, minor drainage, and other miscellaneous construction from Pershing Street to the intersection of Route 28 & Route 219. Also included are the intersection improvements of the existing intersection of Route 219 and Route 28 which includes utility relocations, an updated traffic signal, sidewalk reconstruction, drainage updates, and other miscellaneous construction.

Contractor, Francis J. Palo, Inc. of Clarion, PA, will be completing this $3 million project that will conclude late October 2025.
