Suspects to be Identified in a Fraud Investigation,
Wellesley Street East and Sumach Street,

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying suspects in a Fraud investigation.

It is reported that:

  • on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at approximately 8 p.m., the victims, who are an elderly couple, received a call from an individual impersonating a police officer
  • the victims were informed that their credit cards were fraudulently used and they needed to turn their credit cards over to police
  • the suspects further advised that a courier would be sent immediately to pick up the credit cards and the PIN for the credit card
  • the victim turned over their credit cards to the couriers who arrived at their residence
  • the credit cards were then used and charged for approximately $13,000

Suspect #1 is described as male, with a heavy build, full beard, and medium black hair in a flow style. He was wearing a black baseball hat with the Toronto Raptors Logo on the front, a black and grey Nike sweater, grey track pants, a brown coat, and grey pillow-style slippers with white socks.

Suspect #2 is described as female, with a thin build and long black hair. She was wearing a grey pullover sweater with a hood and grey sweatpants.

Images have been released.

Police believe there may be more victims.
