BCPP firms by 1.1 pct in week 52

Prague, Dec 29 (CTK) - The Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) strengthened again in the last week of this year, the PX index rising by 1.1 percent to 1,414 points, with solar power plant maker Photon Energy losing the most while pharmacy chain Pilulka Lekarny was the biggest riser, according to the bourse's website.

In week 51, the BCPP weakened by 1.4 percent.

"The PX index rose on all three days of the shortened holiday week," said Wood & Company broker Lukas Novotny.

Pilulka broke its seven-week decline, gaining 13.36 percent to Kc246 in the final week of the year.

Komercni banka followed with a 1.76 percent increase to Kc724.50. Austria's Erste Group Bank gained 1.34 percent to Kc902.10 and Moneta Money Bank added 1.3 percent to Kc93.60, the highest level since the start of the year.

Soft drinks maker Kofola's shares also fared well, rising by 1.1 percent to Kc276, while energy group CEZ added 0.79 percent to Kc958.50 and Austrian insurer VIG firmed by 0.62 percent to Kc650.

By contrast, Photon Energy lost 0.76 percent to Kc45.90. Arms maker Colt ended the week 0.56 percent weaker at Kc531 and Slovak industrial company Gevorkyan, which moved to the BCPP's Prime Market late last week, wrote off 0.7 percent to Kc282.

Tobacco company Philip Morris stayed flat week-on-week at Kc15,620.
