Women’s History Month

In celebration of Women's History Month, the Village has created a listing of resources, events, and community programming. See below for more information on all the ways in which our community is celebrating women's history! Additional resources, programming, and events will be added as they are announced.

Women in the Workplace

Wednesday, March 13, 7:00 p.m., Wilmette Public Library Auditorium

Join us for a panel discussion regarding women in the workplace. The program is an opportunity to explore women's challenges and strategies for overcoming barriers in the workplace. This event celebrates Women's History Month and the 100 Year Anniversary of the League of Women Voters of Wilmette, continuing the tradition of learning together and advocating for a more equitable community. Please feel free to bring questions for the open Q&A session.

Local Women in Government Coffee

Thursday, March 14, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Woman's Club of Wilmette (930 Greenleaf)

Please join the Woman's Club of Wilmette as they celebrate National Women's History Month. Come and connect with your local female community leaders and learn about the current projects that our community boards are working on. The morning will include coffee and a panel discussion with time for Q&A, moderated by Ali Wenzke. The event is free and open to the community; a $10 donation at the event is appreciated. The Wilmette Historical Museum has a variety of resources pertaining to women's history, visit the Wilmette Historical Museum's website where you can find information on topics like The history of the Woman's Club of Wilmette and more!

The Village of Wilmette has a strong history of female leaders, community servants, professionals, and more that have influenced the community we are today. Starting Friday, March 1, check out the kiosk in the main lobby at Village Hall that highlights some of these amazing women of Wilmette's past and present.
