FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
APRIL 16, 2024
DAVIE, Fla. - The Town of Davie Utilities Department will temporarily return to using free chlorine disinfection in its water treatment system beginning Friday, May 10 to Friday, May 31, 2024. This notice only impacts residents serviced by the Town of Davie (see Davie Utilities service area shaded light blue on the map below).
As a recommended program from the Florida Department of Health, the temporary treatment of the water system is a common practice for water suppliers that utilze chlorine disinfection or "free chlorine."
Please note that this routine procedure does not cause any adverse health effects and is safe for consumption. However, some individuals may notice a slight change in the water's taste, odor or color during this time. Neighbors may also see fire hydrants running, which is part of the normal maintenance process.
Special Considerations
For more information, please contact the Town of Davie Utilities Department during regular operating hours Monday to Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 954-327-3742 or call 954-327-3750 after hours.
