Congressional FCU Announces New President/CEO

Congressional Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that Tricia C. Szurgot, MBA, CCE, FLTA has joined the organization as President and Chief Executive Officer.

We are delighted that she has joined the organization as President & Chief Executive Officer and know she will help lead CFCU into a new era," said James Kaelin, Chairman of the Board of Directors. Tricia is a highly accomplished executive leader and credit union strategy expert with broad professional experience, deep industry expertise, and exceptional achievement throughout her diverse 30+ year career. Tricia brings remarkable strategic foresight, a human-centric leadership style, and steadfast commitment to championing the credit union movement, most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Securityplus Federal Credit Union. "Pairing her transformational leadership vision and engaging style with her deep commitment for the credit union movement and serving the community, Tricia will be a tremendous asset to the organization to lead CFCU into the future."

After an extensive nationwide search, Ms. Szurgot's appointment as President & CEO comes a few months following the unexpected and untimely loss of the former President & CEO, Montez Hairston, who was held in high regard throughout the organization and community. She has joined the organization at an exciting time as CFCU continues to focus on innovation, growth, and enhanced member experience for its esteemed Capitol Hill membership and the communities it serves.

Ms. Szurgot said. Tricia is a graduate of the prestigious Credit Union Executive Society (CUES) CEO Institute, including executive certifications from Wharton, Cornell, and University of Virginia Darden School of Business. She holds a master's degree (MBA) in economics and leadership, bachelor's degree in business, and numerous professional certifications in banking and innovation including Certified Futurist & Long-Term Analyst. Throughout her 30+ year career, Szurgot spent 20+ years as an executive leader in credit unions with focus on growth, transformation, and innovation and 10 years in corporate and public private partnerships (DOD) with focus on global strategy, technology, and infrastructure.
