Public call announced for the development of conceptual designs for the fast traffic route section from Herceg Novi to Budva

Monteput has announced a public call for the development of conceptual designs for the fast traffic route section from Herceg Novi to Budva, including the crossing over the Bay of Kotor.

The purpose of developing the technical documentation is to explore alternative corridors for the fast traffic route and its connection to other parts of the main road network. The starting point of the fast traffic route is in the Debeli Brijeg area, then it proceeds through the hinterland of Herceg Novi towards Tivat or Kotor, connecting to a section with a unique corridor from the Bratešića zone to Budva.

Given the limitations related to the area of the city of Kotor, the designer is tasked with analyzing all potential variants of connecting coastal cities across the Bay of Kotor.

It is necessary to consider the natural and cultural-historical area of Kotor in order to preserve its exceptional universal value in line with world heritage.

In the previous period, technical documentation was prepared only for certain variants of the mentioned fast traffic route corridors, so it is necessary to develop conceptual designs for those potential variants for which technical documentation does not exist. The documentation prepared so far serves as a starting point based on which conceptual designs will be developed, and which the investor will provide to the selected designer.

The designer is required to analyze a wider area. It is important to consider the connections between the main road and the fast traffic route, as well as the connection to Tivat Airport and the city of Kotor.

This documentation should serve as the basis for the final determination of the position of this corridor in the Proposal of the Spatial Plan of Montenegro, as well as for future decisions of the Government of Montenegro regarding further investments in traffic infrastructure.

When developing conceptual designs, spatial-planning aspects must be taken into account in terms of selecting the optimal route, location and concept of grade-separated intersections, toll booths, location of accompanying and functional facilities, ecological aspects, existing infrastructure, existing cultural assets, religious facilities, and all other facilities that may be relevant for making the final decision on the position of the route.

The project to develop conceptual designs for the section of the fast traffic route from Herceg Novi to Budva represents an important step towards the modernization of traffic infrastructure in Montenegro.
