Share your thoughts on Granville Street

Today, the City of Vancouver launched its public engagement campaign for the new Granville Street Planning Program.

"We're excited to be taking this next step towards a fully revitalized Granville Entertainment District," said Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim. "The planning work that begins today will set the stage for a safe, fun, and vibrant Granville Street for generations to come."

The planning program follows a January 31, 2023 decision by Council for City staff to engage and work with residents and stakeholders in developing a new vision for Granville Street as an exciting, welcoming, safe, and inclusive downtown destination.

Those who live, work, and play in Vancouver are invited to share their feedback on how the City can balance the need to preserve the area's unique heritage character with the potential new opportunities for entertainment, dining, and tourism, hotel, retail, and office space.

Share your thoughts

Public participation is important as the City seeks to create a plan that will re-establish Granville Street as Vancouver's main entertainment district. Provide input by:

• Visiting Shape Your City to learn more and complete a survey (available in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese)
• Using the mapping tool to identify arts, culture and heritage places, experiences, and stories that make this area special
• Registering for an in-person workshop
• Registering for an in-person walking tour
• Coming to the pop-up information booth at the Granville Street Block Party (August 26-27)

Public feedback will be shared in an engagement summary, and will help inform the final Granville Street Planning Program, which will be presented to Council for approval in Fall/Winter 2024.
