CUHK has achieved unprecedented success at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2024, winning a stunning 32 awards.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has achieved unprecedented success at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2024, winning a stunning 32 awards. The exhibition is widely regarded as one of the most important annual global events dedicated solely to inventions. The 31 innovative entries from CUHK garnered 32 awards - the highest number of accolades CUHK has ever received at the exhibition. The tally includes one special prize - the Prize of Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), one Gold Medal with Congratulations of the Jury, 12 Gold Medals, 16 Silver Medals and two Bronze Medals.

CUHK Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sham Mai-har expressed great excitement over this remarkable success, saying, "The brilliance and creativity of our researchers have once again shone on the global arena. I am incredibly proud of their exceptional performance at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2024. These awards are examples of the innovative spirit that thrives within the CUHK community. They reflect not only the University's relentless pursuit of excellence but also our commitment to contributing positively to society. At the exhibition, CUHK's research teams presented groundbreaking innovations designed to tackle some of the world's most pressing challenges. The awarded inventions include 20 from the Faculty of Medicine, six from the Faculty of Engineering and five from the Faculty of Science. They span a wide range of disciplines, highlighting the University's diverse strengths and its leadership role in driving technological progress.

The International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva is the largest global exhibition devoted exclusively to inventions. All entries have been evaluated by an international jury of specialists. This year's exhibition showcased over 1,035 inventions from 38 countries and regions.
