MFA Nasser Bourita Holds talks with his Malian counterpart

The talks between the two officials focused on strengthening cooperation relations between Morocco and the Republic of Mali, as well as on subjects of common interest.

Mr. Diop said that the meeting with his Moroccan counterpart was a natural extension of the regular exchanges between the two parties.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review bilateral relations, which are "excellent", and to examine together the measures and strategies to be adopted to strengthen these ties, he added.

"Our discussions also focused on examining the situation in the Region and, here too, we welcomed the interactions with Morocco and the initiatives that are being taken together to strengthen peace, stability and prosperity in the Region," noted Mr. Diop.

On this occasion, the Malian diplomat praised the commitment of HM King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan government to a much-strengthened political and economic relationship with Mali, as well as Morocco's support and confidence in the Malians' ability to find solutions to the challenges facing the country.

The talks took place on the sidelines of the 15th session of the Islamic Summit Conference, scheduled for May 4-5 in Banjul, in the presence of ambassador, director general of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), Mohamed Methqal.
