Tempe This Week - March 25, 2024

In observance of César Chávez Day on March 31, the City of Tempe will close all administrative offices on Monday, April 1.

César Chávez was an American labor leader and civil rights activist. He led the first successful farm workers union in American history, achieving dignity, respect, fair wages, medical coverage, pension benefits and humane living conditions, as well as countless other rights and protections for hundreds of thousands of farm workers. Join Tempe in honoring his significance and impact. Find what other city services are affected. As an example, there will be no Tempe This Week newsletter next Monday.

Don't miss the free opening reception of the Tempe History Museum's new featured exhibit, "Extending a Hand: César Chávez an Arizona Connection." Enjoy refreshments, music, performances and more on Friday, March 29, from 6-9 p.m.
