Shanghai Wanlihua Biotech Co Ltd's new industrial production base has recently opened in Songjiang District.

The modern and intelligent factory, with patented production technologies, is capable of producing 5,000 tons of bio-pesticides and 20,000 tons of bio-fertilizers annually.

Mao Weili, the general manager of Wanlihua, said that in the future the company will conduct scientific researches to solve issues related to food security, ecological safety, soil improvement, crop diseases, green comprehensive prevention and control and food safety.

The company will cooperate with domestic and foreign enterprises and research institutes to seek technological breakthroughs in key areas and contribute to promoting the high-quality development of agriculture and improving farmers' income.

At the opening ceremony, experts, scholars and entrepreneurs held a seminar focusing on how biotechnology can help the high-quality development of agriculture and how to reduce carbon emissions in agriculture and rural areas.
