The novel "Niva" ("The Field") by the writer Milen Ivanov was presented in the National Assembly. The event was initiated by MP Stoyan Taslakov. The book is elaborated in the spirit and traditions of authors such as Elin Pelin, Yordan Yovkov and Georgi Karaslavov.

MP Stoyan Taslakov recalled the patriotic activity of Milen Ivanov in establishing Bulgarian schools in Birmingham, Nottingham and Coventry.

Parliament is the place where contemporary Bulgarian literature can receive support, because there are many talented poets and writers who deserve attention, said the author of the novel, Milen Ivanov. According to him, every book is meant to reach the hearts of people. "Niva" is a work of good and it provokes readers to look inside themselves.

This book is social one, exploring the problems of today's society and showing its defects and vices, Katya Venkova from Zahari Stoyanov Publishing House noted during the event. Milen Ivanov does a good job of elaborating the social problem, he tells it fascinatingly, simply and clearly, and this makes his works not only readable but also understandable, she added. Everything is taken from life, thought out from the point of view of time and told with all the drama that this social life contains, Katya Venkova stressed.

The publishing house notes that the novel reveals the idea of how one overcomes the seduction of money and temptations in the modern world. This is a book about memory, retribution, and awareness.

The presentation was attended by MPs, public figures and journalists.
