BRAMPTON, ON - Brampton Transit is pleased to announce its newest flexible route service, BT On Demand, launching April 29, 2024.
An innovative approach aimed at enhancing accessibility and convenience for transit users within a designated service zone, BT On Demand is tailored to respond directly to customer requests rather than following a fixed route. A customer will be able to request a ride between any two transit stops within a set service zone and a Brampton Transit vehicle will be sent to pick them up and drop them off. This service will replace Route 40 Central Industrial and introduce riders to a fresh micro-transit option that's finely tuned to meet their needs. Please note that the current Route 40 Central Industrial will be discontinued and will no longer be in service due to the introduction of BT On Demand.
The BT On Demand transit app is a user-friendly application used to optimize trip bookings. It is available for download on Google Play and the Apple App Store.
How to book a trip on BT on Demand:
Upon booking, riders will be directed to wait at the designated location to meet the approaching bus. Trip updates will be available in the app and text message notifications will be provided in real-time including vehicle arrival time.
How to book a trip with a contact centre agent:
If riders don't have access to a smartphone or to the website, requests can be made by phone at 905.874.2999.
Agents are available:
Riders will need to provide the agent with their location, intended destination and preferred departure or arrival time. The agent will confirm and provide trip details verbally.
