Toledo senior Barend Botha received First-Team All-Mid-American Conference honors for a fourth consecutive season, the league office announced.

Botha is only the second player in school history to garner first-team all-league recognition four consecutive years, joining Brad Heaven who was honored from 2001-04. Botha's selection also marks the fifth straight season the Rockets have had at least one first-team honoree under Head Coach Jeff Roope.

A native of George, South Africa, Barend Botha also received MAC Golfer of the Year honors for a second season in a row.

A native of George, South Africa, Botha also received MAC Golfer of the Year honors for a second season in a row. He also became the first individual in 34 years to win back-to-back outright MAC Championship individual titles by posting an 11-under par 205 in Westfield, Indiana.

Botha holds the program record for lowest career stroke average (71.8) after posting the lowest two stroke averages ever by a Rocket with a 70.5 mark as a junior and a 71.1 mark this season. He has shot par or better in 44 of 69 rounds (63.7 percent) over the last two seasons.

Botha will be competing as an individual at the NCAA Purdue Regional in West Lafayette, Indiana, on Monday, May 13, through Wednesday, May 15.
