Local EU Statement on a unified Libyan mechanism in response to the floods in Eastern Libya

We express our strong support to the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General's call for the establishment of a unified Libyan national mechanism in response to the devastating floods in Eastern Libya. We urge Libyan leaders to agree on such a mechanism, in support of the Libyan people.

This should be coordinated with local, national and international partners to direct transparent, rights-based and accountable relief efforts and address the reconstruction needs following the disaster.
