Would you like to be a crime scene investigator? In our CSI camp, students will use real-life forensic techniques to solve crimes. Their experiences will include hands-on activities such as collecting fingerprints, making footprint casts, creating a DNA profile of the subject, analyzing blood spatter, and much, much more!

This day camp offers an in-depth look into one of the most intriguing and popular career choices today. We will take a deep dive into specialized topics including forensic anthropology and human identification, witness and suspect interviewing techniques, cyber-crimes, and trace analysis. Students will have an opportunity to use these skills in real-time when they examine mock crime scenes.

Each student will have an opportunity to help create crime scene scenarios and set them up with the appropriate evidence, while the other students use their newly gained skills to solve them. Our talented instructors and volunteers will guide the investigations while the students interrogate suspects, analyze the evidence, and present their results to a court of their peers. This class incorporates the practical skills necessary for crime scene investigation while allowing the students the chance to think critically about criminal justice.

The class will meet daily at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds. Snacks will be provided throughout the day. A lunch break will be from 12:30-1:00 p.m. each day. Meals and transportation to and from the fairgrounds will not be provided.

STUDENTS MUST BE BETWEEN 15-17 YEARS OLD AND BE A RESIDENT OF CLATSOP COUNTY. Only 20 students will be accepted and acceptance is on a first-come, first-serve basis. All forms must be received by June 30, 2023.
