If you're looking for a way to do your part this Earth Day, there are plenty of opportunities and events happening around Monona, from native plant sales (free to businesses), to Mundo Esperando programmingat Aldo Leopold Nature Center, to parks clean-up events throughout Madison and Monona.

One event in Monona is the city's first-ever Do More Trash Bashon April 22. Grab a friend or two and enter this contest for a chance to win one of three $100 Kwik Trip Gift Cards!

The concept is simple - individuals or teams have just ONE HOUR to collect paper, cans, bottles, and other trash littering the park of your choice. After the timer's up, weigh your bag of items collected at a weigh station, and find out who wins!

Monona invites you to join your friends and neighbors in our community Earth Day celebrations.

April 20, 9a-1p | Aldo Leopold Nature Center

Join Mundo Esperanza for celebrations honoring traditional and indigenous uses of fire for land management, ceremonies, and daily living. A native plant sale will also be happening on site throughout this event.

April 20, 2-4p | Winnequah Park

Do your part to keep our public spaces wonderful places to be by participating in this quick, kid-friendly clean up near the Dream Park play structure at Winnequah Park. Native plants will be available for purchase during this event.

April 22, 12-2:30p | Parks Throughout Monona

Join the "Do More Trash Bash" from Monona Parks & Rec for a race to collect the most pounds of waste in parks in need of the most TLC. A $100 Kwik Trip gift card will be awarded to the winning team. Additional details below.
