CELEBRATING THE MUSICAL: UMW CANTABILEERS PRESENT SPRING CONCERT

The Cantabileers, the University of Montana Western's select choral group, will host a free performance on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in the Beier Auditorium celebrating the history and evolution of the musical.

The ensemble, an experiential music class at Montana Western, underscores its commitment to student leadership at every stage of development.

This semester's repertoire showcases selections from a diverse array of musicals spanning from 1965 to contemporary works released as recently as 2021. Notably, the musical format affords numerous opportunities for solo performances, thoughtfully curated to align with students' interests and vocal capabilities.

"The students have meticulously chosen pieces that resonate with audiences of all ages, ranging from emotive and stirring compositions to lighthearted and humorous tunes," said Dr. Dev Seacrest, the group's director.

Adding depth and harmony to the performances, Susie Steadman will accompany the ensemble on piano.
