2024 Environmental Sustainability Award Winners: Honoring Environmental Sustainability Best Practices

At Constellation Brands, we're committed to safeguarding our environment and making a positive impact in the communities where we live and work. We believe that investing in environmental wellbeing is good for the world and good business.

This past year, we've made significant strides towards our sustainability goals. We exceeded our water stewardship target and implemented new packaging and waste reduction initiatives. Reaching these milestones would not have been possible without dedicated teams across our company. That's why we're thrilled to recognize outstanding environmental leadership with this year's Environmental Sustainability Awards.

Leadership Award: Obregón Brewery

The Leadership Award recognizes facilities that demonstrate best-in-class environmentally sustainable practices focused on water stewardship and at least two additional sustainability categories.

The team at the Obregón Brewery implemented a range of comprehensive environmental sustainability initiatives focused on water, energy, waste management, ecosystems, and supply chain. These included water management programs for reduced consumption and increased reuse via a Water Recovery Plant and a tertiary ultrafiltration system, a community water project with the Yaqui River Irrigation District supporting infrastructure upgrades designed to improve efficiency and reduce demand in an agricultural region located near the brewery, a transition to natural gas boilers for energy efficiency, and ongoing waste reduction efforts, in addition to other projects.

This is the Obregón Brewery's second internal sustainability award, having also won the Stewardship Award in 2023.

The Obregón Breweryis located in Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, a city in the south of Sonora in the Yaqui Valley region. The brewery produces Corona Extra, Modelo Especial, Pacifico, and Corona Premier.

Stewardship Award: Quarry Lake Winery and The Prisoner Wine Company

The Stewardship Award recognizes facilities that implemented outstanding projects in any sustainability category that led to strong environmental benefits.

The Quarry Lake Winery was recognized for implementing energy initiatives to help the site eliminate the need for propane fuel. The team is also implementing energy improvements, identifying projects and processes to reduce electricity consumption and manage overall annual kWh/tons produced.

The Quarry Lake Winery is a production winery in Southern Sonoma County, California. It is the home of SALDO and also supports Double Diamond, Robert Mondavi, The Prisoner, Unshackled, and Meiomi.

The Prisoner Wine Company was honored for its strong environmental initiatives in the water category, taking measures to significantly reduce water usage at the facility.

The Prisoner Wine Company is a leading brand in our wine and spirits portfolio, located on Highway 29 in Napa Valley, California. It is home to a family of five iconic brands - The Prisoner, SALDO, Unshackled, Blindfold, and most recently, Domaine Curry.
