"In Helsinki, 41 962 people voted, representing 7,1 percent of the city's residents. These results show that the OmaStadi participatory budgeting initiative is a concrete, important opportunity for the people of Helsinki to play a part in the development of our city. I am especially pleased to see that the voting percentage of young people improved. On an international level, Helsinki's participatory budgeting voting percentage is very good," said Johanna Sinkkonen, the City of Helsinki's Participation Manager.

The Mayor of Helsinki will confirm the voting result during March.
The development of the proposals to be implemented will begin on the OmaStadi website on 4-16 April and in co-development events (Link leads to external service) for residents and experts in April-May.

OmaStadi is Helsinki's way of engaging in participatory budgeting with city residents. In the ongoing third round of OmaStadi, Helsinki will use EUR 8.8 million to implement the residents' proposals. The OmaStadi proposals that have already been implemented or are about to be implemented total 119 so far.
