Huntington County Child Abuse Prevention Month kickoff

To kick off Child Abuse Prevention Month, Huntington Mayor Richard Strick will read the Child Abuse Prevention Month proclamation. County commissioners and other community members will also be present to show their support. The Huntington Child Protection Team Chair, Jan Williams, and DCS local office director, Kerri King, will present the winner of the Ron Mitchell Award. The award is named in honor of Ron Mitchell, a former director of the Huntington County Department of Welfare. The award is presented to individuals who go above and beyond in order to protect children in the Huntington community.
