Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma joins Commission for Gender Equality in mourning passing of Commissioner Ntuli-Tloubatla.

Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has learned with sadness about the passing of Commissioner Ntuli-Tloubatla who was a full-time Commissioner at Commission for Gender Equality (CGE).

She was appointed as the Commissioner in 2019 by President Cyril Ramaphosa. Commissioner Ntuli-Tloubatla was a graduate of the University of Limpopo, University of Pretoria, University of South Africa, and Regenesys School of Public Management. She had extensive knowledge and experience in gender transformation and women empowerment.

"Together with other Commissioners, Octavia Lindiwe Ntuli-Tloubatla championed the constitutional mandate of the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) and its obligations, by ensuring an organisational framework for compliance, governance, and effective functioning. which are today the strategic pillars for implementation of the Commission's mandate," said Minister Dlamini Zuma.

The passing of Commissioner Ntuli-Tloubatla comes on the eve of the launch of 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Girls campaign on 25 November 2023, in Mpumalanga Province, with the theme "Accelerating actions to end Gender-Based violence & femicide: leaving no one behind".
"It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we lose a dedicated individual who was dedicated to advancing the course of gender equality in South Africa. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and colleagues during this difficult period." Minister Dlamini Zuma.
