NOPD Investigates Fourth District Homicide

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the Fourth District.

Around 10:50 p.m. a call reporting shots fired and a single vehicle accident was reported near the intersection of Dickens Place and Zion Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound near the vehicle.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victims' names upon completion of autopsy and notification of families.

Homicide Detective John Bakula is leading the ongoing investigation.
