'Information to Society': Summaries of STF Judgments to Be Displayed in New Format, with Search Capability and Statistics

The project by the Chief Justice, Luís Roberto Barroso, aims to increase the visibility and understanding of information about the Court's judgments.

The "Information to Society," a service that presents a didactic summary of the main in-person and virtual judgments made by the Federal Supreme Court (STF), is now available in a new format, with the possibility of search and statistical analysis. Click here to access.

Launched in October 2023, the summary provides, in simple and accessible language, the facts related to each case, the legal issues, the foundations of the decision, how the vote went, the outcome of the judgment, and the defined theses.

The new presentation format displays on the initial screen the full summary of the latest judgments, infographics, and available statistics, in the same environment as the STF's data and transparency system, the Open Court. In the "List" tab, it is possible to find information on all processes, with the possibility of searching by action number or keywords.

Furthermore, it will be easier to find the summaries, which are now available in the main menu of the site.

The project is part of Justice Barroso's management plan, which aims to make the Supreme more transparent and closer to society. "The Federal Supreme Court deals with complex issues, but almost everything can be said in a simpler and more direct way. 'Information to Society' intends to explain in the most didactic way possible what was decided so that society can truly understand the decision and what was taken into account to reach that understanding," said the Chief Justice.
