Menifee Street Project and Construction Updates - Week of June 27, 2022

Murrieta Road at Newport Road

Murrieta Road remains closed from Murphy Ranch Road to La Piedra Road as EMWD continues work on the Murrieta Road Transmission Pipeline Project. The closure is expected to remain in place through June 25.

Palomar Road at Matthews Road (Case Road) - Storm Drain Improvements

Palomar Road remains open.

Goetz Road - North of Kabian Park - Southern California Edison (SCE) Utility Undergrounding Project

Intermittent lane closures should be expected as SCE undergrounding work continues on Goetz Road, north of Kabian Park.

Murrieta Road and Sun City Boulevard - Traffic Signal Improvements - Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project

Construction materials have arrived for the Traffic Signal Improvement project at the Sun City Boulevard/Murrieta Road intersection and work is now in progress. Sun City Boulevard will be closed east and west of Murrieta Road to support the project. This closure is expected to be in place until Monday, July 18 and work will continue on the project through the end of August.

Scott Road between Menifee Road and Briggs Road - Sumac Ridge Utility Work

Intermittent traffic control continues on Scott Road in support of this utility construction project.

Holland Road - SoCal Gas Line Installation

Asphalt restoration on Corson Avenue and Holland Road has been completed. Roadway striping is expected to be completed in the project area over the next week.

Potomac and Meadows Resurfacing - Pavement Management Program (PMP) Project

Roadway preparation work has been completed in the areas of the Potomac and Meadows PMP. Slurry seal operations are expected to begin in late August to complete this pavement rehabilitation project. Garbani Road and Menifee Road - Traffic Signal Improvements

Traffic signal improvement work continues to require intermittent traffic control near this intersection. Flagmen are present and assisting with traffic flow as shoulder and drainage improvements continue.

*NEW* Newport Road and Murrieta Road - SCE Vault and Conduit Installation

SCE's contractor will begin night work on Wednesday, June 29 in the area of Murrieta Road and Newport Road for a new vault conduit installation. Working hours will be between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. with alternating lane closures and traffic control configurations. Work is expected to continue for approximately three to four weeks.

*NEW* Barnett Road and McLaughlin Road - Road Closure Effective July 5

Barnett Road will be closed between McLaughlin Road and Patricia Lane beginning July 5. This section of roadway is expected to remain closed for several weeks while the existing dirt roadway is paved by the developer of a nearby residential project.
