AHRQ National Advisory Council to Meet Virtually on March 14

The National Advisory Council (NAC) for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) will convene online on Thursday, March 14, 11:15 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. E.T. The council, which consists of 20 members from the private sector plus ex-officio members from other Federal health agencies, provides advice to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Director of the Agency.

The meeting will feature several presentations, including:

  • Discussion of Recent AHRQ Accomplishments, Robert Otto Valdez, Ph.D., M.H.S.A., Director, AHRQ
  • Update from the NAC Subcommittee for AHRQ's Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund Investments, Karin Rhodes, M.D., M.S., Chief Implementation Officer, AHRQ
  • Discussion about the 20th Anniversary of Digital Healthcare, Christine Dymek, Ed.D., Director, Division of Digital Healthcare Research, Center for Evidence and Practice Improvement (CEPI), AHRQ; Edwin Lomotan, M.D., Physician and Senior Advisor for Clinical Informatics, CEPI, AHRQ
  • Update from the National Action Alliance for Patient and Workforce Safety and Diagnostic Excellence, Craig A. Umscheid, M.D., M.S., Director, Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQuIPS), AHRQ; Jade Perdue-Puli, M.P.A., Senior Advisor to the Director, CQuIPS, AHRQ; Margie Shofer, B.S.N., M.B.A., Director, Division of General Patient Safety, CQuIPS, AHRQ

The meeting will be available through Zoom starting at 11:00 a.m., E.T., and is open to the public. The time allotted for public comments is 3:30-3:45 p.m. ET.
