After the parade, the Minister of National Defence made the following statement:

"Today is a bright day and a bright National Holiday; a double holiday, both National and Religious, the brightest of all, because theCelebration of the Anniversary of the 1821 Revolution must be the brightest National holiday.

We draw courage and inspiration from the example of the 1821 Heroes, we take their example under consideration, that when we are united and agree on the basics we achieve the greatest, the most glorious victories. When this does not happen and we are divided, we suffer the most tragic defeats. We keep in mind something very simple, that the 1821 Heroes, those who brought the National Independence through their sacrifice and struggle, were just people, with great faith, big determination and unsatisfied thirst for Freedom. People who were not afraid to recall Kolokotronis words: "neither the condition the Turks were in, nor who held the castles and the cities", so they fought and succeeded for us to be free today and we owe it to them to follow their heroic example.

Happy 25thof March! Long live Greece! Long live the Nation!

Happy Anniversary".
