Dominican Celebrates Scholarly and Creative Works Conference, April 17

Dominican's 9th annual Scholarly and Creative Works Conference (SCW) will be held April 17 from 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. The conference showcases undergraduate and graduate students' research papers and posters, creative writing, artwork, dance, and music performances.

President Nicola Pitchford will open the conference at 9:30 a.m. and Dr. Diara Spain, Professor of Biology and Chair of the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, will deliver the keynote address at 9:45 a.m. in Guzman Lecture Hall.

The first session of oral presentations is from 11 a.m. until noon in Guzman classrooms and via Zoom. The first session of poster presentations is from 11 a.m. until noon in Guzman Lecture Hall. Music, a student panel, and a free lunch will be held from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Meadowlands Lawn.

Poster sessions and oral presentations are from 1:30-6:30 p.m. in Guzman Lecture Hall and classrooms. All oral presentations also will be on Zoom. An artist showcase will be held in the Barbara D. Goodman Art Gallery/Alemany Library from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

SCW is open to all members of the University and the greater community. The conference is sponsored by Academic Affairs and La Vida Dominican. Conference co-organizers are Dr. Bill Phillips, Professor of Psychology, and Christina Mayes, Digital Portfolio Specialist and Integrative Coach in the Student Success Center.
