Dayton Children's has flu shots available and is encouraging everyone, age 6 months and up, to get their flu shot before October 31 to make the vaccine most effective. The key is to get the vaccine at least two to three weeks before the flu season begins in order to have optimal protection against it.
"We're excited to offer flu shots at Dayton Children's, including our four Kids Express locations, in advance of this year's flu season," said Lisa Ziemnik, MD, division chief of Dayton Children's Kids Express and urgent care. "Getting the flu vaccine now is one of the easiest ways to protect children and families from getting seriously ill from the flu this season. We want to make sure everyone, age 6 months and up, is protected. We hope families choose one of our convenient locations to get their vaccine this year."
