It's time to get amped about Fort Worth music

This summer the Fort Worth Public Library launches its newest music venture, the Amped Up Music Tour.

Promoting, live, local and unique music across the city, the library will host four free concerts at various Fort Worth locations from May through August.

Open to all ages, the tour invites the community to experience the unique energy and sound of Fort Worth music with performances from the Western Flyers (country/swing), Igimèjí (R&B) and Court Hoang (rock/pop) and Amplify 817 artists. The tour will conclude with its fourth and final stop at the third annual Amplify 817 Showcase on Aug. 17 featuring an electric lineup of Amplify 817-affiliated artists.

What they're saying: "Bring a friend. Invite the family. Make it a date-night," said music librarian Rita Alfaro. "The Amped Up Music Tour invites all ages to come out and enjoy music made in and by their community."

  • The Western Flyers: 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, Burnett Park, 501 W Seventh St.
  • Igimèjí: 2-5 p.m. Saturday, June 22, East Regional Library, 6301 Bridge St.
  • Court Hoang: 2-5 p.m. Saturday, July 27, Summerglen Library, 4205 Basswood Blvd.
  • Amplify 817 Showcase: Saturday, Aug. 17, Fort Brewery & Pizza, 2737 Tillar St.
