The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a personal injury collision investigation.

On Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at approximately 1:11 a.m. police responded to a call for a collision in the Don Valley Parkway near Spanbridge Road overpass area.

It is reported that:

  • the northbound curb and middle lane were closed for overnight construction and marked accordingly
  • a motor vehicle described as possibly a "light coloured" SUV was travelling northbound and entered the construction zone
  • a 46-year-old man was struck while working
  • the motor vehicle did not stop and fled the scene northbound on the Don Valley Parkway
  • the construction worker suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries
  • the driver and vehicle are outstanding and the vehicle likely has front end damage

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services and Ministry of Labour.

Police are seeking any dash camera footage of the incident or information to contact investigators.
