Urges Pennsylvanians to #ThankALineWorker for their Critical Efforts

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) is joining the nation in celebrating April 18th as National Line Worker Appreciation Day, recognizing the thousands of skilled professionals who work tirelessly to keep our communities connected and powered.

Line workers, along with other essential utility personnel, play a vital role in maintaining the infrastructure that powers our daily lives. From electricians and technicians to engineers and support staff, these individuals work collaboratively to ensure the reliability and safety of our utility services.

"Today, we express our gratitude not only to line workers but to all utility workers who dedicate themselves to serving our communities," said PUC Chairman Stephen M. DeFrank. "Their efforts and contributions are indispensable to the Commonwealth, especially during times of crisis."

The dedication and expertise of utility workers are particularly evident during natural disasters, emergencies, and other challenging circumstances. Their swift response and unwavering commitment to service are essential in restoring power, communications, and other vital utility services to our homes and businesses.

National Line Worker Appreciation Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices utility workers make to ensure the well-being of our communities. Whether braving extreme weather conditions, working long hours, or navigating hazardous environments, these individuals demonstrate resilience and courage in the face of adversity.

"As we celebrate National Line Worker Appreciation Day, take a few moments to #ThankALineWorker and express gratitude for the essential work they do," added Chairman DeFrank. "Their dedication keeps our lights on, our homes and businesses connected, and our communities thriving."

The PUC encourages residents to join in honoring utility workers by sharing messages of appreciation on social media using the hashtag #ThankALineWorker.
