Almirall continues to progress in its environmental and sustainability endeavours. This April, the company received an ESG risk rating of 17.1 from Sustainalytics, signifying a low risk of experiencing material impacts stemming from ESG factors. This rating positions the company among the top 5% of pharmaceutical sector companies

In addition to this rating, earlier this year, CDP recognized the company for its transparency and efforts against climate change. Almirall achieved an outstanding score of "A-, Leadership" in Climate Change for the second consecutive year, and a score of "B, Management" in Water Safety, marking the company's debut in this category.

Since 2014, Almirall's commitment to environmental stewardship has been evident through its progressively improving scores in CDP evaluations, with its recognition with the A- for Leadership since 2022. CDP independently assesses data related to environmental impact, risks, and opportunities, and its reports are esteemed as benchmarks in environmental information due to their comprehensive data on company and city performance

"Receiving these recognitions for our contributions to climate change is evidence of our strong commitment to environmental protection and sustainability in all our operations and value chain. As a healthcare company with a long-term vision of our impact on people and societies, our contributions to creating a more sustainable future are at the core of our business plan and actions," commented Carlos Gallardo, Chairman and CEO of Almirall.

These recognitions underscore Almirall's commitment to addressing climate change through initiatives aimed at safeguarding the planet and fostering emissions reduction across the value chain. In line with this commitment, the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated Almirall's ESG targets in 2023 to achieve net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across the value chain by 2050, under the 'Net-Zero Standard'. The company also committed to reducing absolute GHG emissions from own sources and purchased electricity by 50% and indirect emissions produced in the value chain by 28% by 2030 compared to 2019.
